Our History
On a hot February day in 2004 my best mate Lucy (a tan kelpie) was killed accidentally when a trailer I was unloading collapsed and crushed her. I found the death of my dog was like loosing a member of my family. I was totally unprepared for her death and it brought me to a blubbering mess. I nursed my beautiful dog apologizing to her for her sudden death that I had caused. It took me some time to understand why this tragedy had occurred, I believe it was fate and Lucy's death led both my wife Deb and I to where we are today.
When Lucy was killed I had no knowledge of Pet Cremation, There were few options for country people so I buried Lucy in a spot we now call ‘Lucy’s garden', We have a memorial sandstone in her memory placed above where she is buried
The service we now provide for animal lovers began in Country NSW on the 15th of December 2004. I left a secure government job with the NSW Police Force and started the first pet cremation service for country people covering most of the Central West of NSW
( about 80,000 Square km’s).
We have agents based in or servicing areas including Mudgee, Dubbo, Parkes , Orange, Bathurst & Cowra and most towns around these areas, we also collect from Vets in Young and Cootamundra.
Our Pet Crematorium at Orange is the only purpose built individual pet crematorium in Central West NSW. It was opened in May 2008, and is located among the peace and tranquility of 10 acres of native bush land. The setting is surrounded with hundreds of gum trees and native shrubs which attract many native birds and animals providing a peaceful setting for your beloved pets final journey.
Our service is personal and caring. When you contact our office/ home you talk to the person whom you will, or have trusted, to give dignity to your pets final journey, Unlike many city based pet cremation services you can talk to the owners Deb or Shane Whiley, we are the people caring for your pet.
We understand that when you loose a pet it is a very difficult time and we know that your pet is very much part of your family. Deb and I look after your pet as if it was one of our own. We are happy to answer any questions you have about our service, either on the phone or via email.
We have pets of our own which include chooks, goats, Budgies, and of course two dogs, Ellie the White Labrador and Jake our Chocolate Labrador. Our dogs are so much part of our family, they are just like our children.
At Pets at Peace Central West we give you time to grieve for your loss as we know how hard it is to loose a pet, we have been there too. We respect your wishes and treat your pet with the dignity they deserve.

#6: Basic Urn package for pets of 10kgs or less include the standard urns plus the option of a small Photo box at no additional Cost.
#7: Standard photo box package includes up-grading to a quality Polished Timber photo box and Gold name plaque for a small additional cost. Your pets lead or collar can be placed in the box along with the ashes.

#8: Jarrah Photo box - upgrade to a quality West Australian Jarrah photo box for a small additional cost. The box has a glass cover for the photo and plaque with you pets name. A lead or collar can also be included in the box with the ashes.

#9: Pollystone External Urn Designed for outdoors. Your pet may have had a special spot in the garden. The Original Granite or Emerald Green urns are completely Water tight. Upgrade for $85

#11: Sandstone Memorials (120 x 200 x 50mm) are available in 3 colours. You can have up to 20 words engraved - priced from $66.00. You can also have a
photo of your pet on the plaque for a small additional cost.
#12: Small Jarrah Box - Upgrade from $50 to a small hinged Jarrah box plain or with photo frame. (pets of 10kgs or less) Can be sealed or open.
#13: Should you want to scatter your pets ashes we can provide a scatter boxes. There is no additional cost for a scatter box when you choose a scatter box in place of a standard urn.
